**In short:** Yes. Choose Monero at checkout, send the exact XMR amount to your order's own address within 2 hours, and allow about 20 minutes for ten confirmations. Monero hides the payment on its chain; the courier still needs a name and an address.

People pay with Monero when they want the payment itself to stay private. It works for a laptop order like any other coin we take, with one honest caveat about delivery that this guide covers up front.

## What Monero keeps private

Monero hides the sender, the receiver and the amount on its public blockchain. Someone reading the chain later cannot see your payment the way they could see a Bitcoin one. That is the main reason to choose it.

## What it does not hide

A laptop has to reach a person. Whatever coin you use, we need a name and a delivery address so the courier can find you, and an email address so we can reach you about the order. Paying in Monero protects the payment, not the parcel.

What we store about an order, and for how long, is set out in the [privacy policy](/privacy). If you want a smaller trail on our side, use an email address you created for the purchase.

## Send from a wallet you control

Some exchanges have dropped Monero or limit withdrawals in certain regions, so the simplest route is your own wallet. The official Monero wallet and well-known apps such as Cake Wallet or Feather all work.

Let the wallet finish syncing before you send. A wallet that is still catching up can show a wrong balance and fail to build the transaction.

## Step by step

1. Build your laptop in the [builder](/build), or start from a [preset](/laptops).
2. At checkout, choose Monero (XMR).
3. The order page shows an amount in XMR, one address and a QR code.
4. In your wallet, send exactly that amount to that address. Copy and paste both, because a Monero address is too long to type by hand.
5. Wait for the page to say "Payment detected", then leave it open or come back later.

## How long it takes

Allow about 20 minutes. Monero wallets treat incoming funds as spendable only after ten blocks, and blocks arrive roughly every two minutes. The order page follows along and updates by itself.

You have 2 hours to send. Once the network has seen your transfer, that window no longer matters, so a slow confirmation never cancels an order.

## Mistakes to avoid

- **Retyping the amount.** Monero amounts run to many decimal places. Use the copy button.
- **Sending from an exchange that deducts its fee.** If the fee comes out of the amount, the order arrives short. Add the fee on top.
- **Paying twice.** Once the page says "Payment detected", the transfer has been seen and you do not need to send it again.

## If the amount comes out short

The order pauses and a person contacts you with the options: send the difference, or have the payment returned. Nothing is lost, and you do not need to do anything until you hear from us.

## After you pay

The page then walks through confirmed, building, shipped and delivered, with a tracking number when it ships. Our team orders or pulls every part, assembles the laptop and tests it before it leaves.
